The fitness benefits of SUP are apparent, but is it possible to fine tune them and maximise them in a way that still keeps SUP enjoyable and fun? We believe so.

Prerequisites
The program will work for anybody, whatever your current ability and fitness – as long as you can comply with these three prerequisites:
Paddling Commitment
To improve your fitness and get the benefits from this course, you really need to be able to paddle more than once a week. At least twice, ideally 3 times per week. They don’t all have to be particularly long sessions, but you’re not going to be able to make useful progress unless you can paddle at least twice. If you are already paddling at least twice a week then this course is going to be perfect for you.
Paddling Ability
You must be able to stand up on your paddleboard, and paddle effectively enough that you can move forward at a reasonable pace, and maintain that for at least 15-20 minutes. You should also be able to turn, and hold position. That’s pretty much it. We will be working on your technique throughout the course. You’re not just going to get fitter, you’re also going to become a better paddler!
Paddling Venues
You’re going to need somewhere reasonably sheltered, so that the water is fairly flat. It will work best if you have a venue that allows you to paddle for at least 500m in one direction before you have to turn around. (A slight bend in the course is fine!).
If your venue is tidal, can you paddle at most states of the tide? If not, this may make it challenging to schedule your 2-3 sessions per week.
If none of these three prerequisites poses a problem then you’re good to go. Sign up now!
